Refurbishing and extending a handsome Grade II listed semi-detached villa for a young growing family within the Maida Vale conservation area
Nash Baker are sensitively undertaking a complete refurbishment by thoughtfully altering and extending the property in such a way that the special architectural character is both respected and preserved. In doing so a more traditional flow of spaces will be reinstated.
With a view to rationalising and, often, reviving the internal layouts, our work aims to enhance the building’s character and, in this way, reflect the distinctive characteristics of the Conservation Area. The previous incongruous refurbishment works are to be refined, including many of the newer internal partitions as well as the glazed conservatory to the rear. The basement development will be designed such that it is visually subservient to the existing architecture and its rooflights discreetly located.
